Ashtanga Yoga Article by Nancy Gilgoff:  http://www.ashtangamaui.com/articles-by-nancy/

The links and info below are from Guy Donahue’s website (www.aysnyc.org), he runs the Ashtahga Yoga Shala in NYC.  I used take his Mysore classes often when I was in the city, he is an experienced very caring teacher with excellent assists.  If you ever have the chance to take his classes while in NYC I would strongly encourage you to do so.  He will make you feel very welcome there.

He has a great collection of information, interviews, and videos with Pattabhi Jois and the original teachers that have helped Pattabhi Jois bring this form of yoga alive in the world.  Here are the links, enjoy 🙂

Interviews:

(In these interviews, although all are important to read, there are two I want to point out, the first is the interview with my teacher, Nancy Gilgoff, the second is the interview with Saraswathi Rangaswamy–she talks about this practice and woman.  In America we have a lot of woman practitioners and very little information about this practice and how it effects woman.  This is an important interview about the ashtanga practice and the phases of a woman’s life and how it all intertwines.)
