    Topic: Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Yoga Workshop

    Lymph is the new wellness topic lately (yay!). There are several prominent personalities in the regenerative health and wellness circuits teaching Manual Lymphatic Drainage movements you can do to support your immune system, improve overall circulation, reduce swelling, enhance detoxification, and prevent signs of aging.

    I have been following a few of them and have incorporated some of the movements into my daily routine and my daily yoga practice. I’m liking it 🙂 And I want to share it with you.

    • There will be a half hour workshop talk on the interesting lymph system and its importance. We will move into a 2 minute manual lymphatic drainage routine for the entire body and a manual lymphatic massage for the face and head.

    • Pranayama for lymphatic movement – 15-20 minutes

    • 1 hour yoga class — Emphasizing yoga postures that move lymph fluid, it will be kinda ashtanga like … “Ashtanga’s Greatest Hits that move lymph”!

      $22.00 — Main yoga room in person —SOLD OUT—
      $15.00 overflow option in the adjoining office space of the main yoga room (in person). We will all be in the main yoga room for the workshop and pranayama, when we roll out our mats is when we will need to use the adjoining room — Two spots still remaining on this option.

    What is Raising your Kundalini?

    Workshop + Led latter half of primary into first half of intermediate.
    Learn what it means to raise your kundalini, in real life. Bobbi takes esoteric, seemingly hard to apply yoga theories and teaches you the science behind them and how to use and apply them to enhance your wellbeing. This mini workshop will briefly explore the chakras and their influence on us, then give you the science in the body on your kundalini and what it means.

    Bobbi will then gently lead you through a practice, giving you of modifications where necessary and tips to safely practice in an inviting and warm environment. This workshop is open to all students and teachers who have an interest in a yoga practice.

    Second series can be intimidating, but don’t let it intimidate you! It is a graceful arrangement of poses that is more accessible than most people realize. Every asana can be modified and demystified to suit each individual. Bobbi will gently lead you through the series, slowly giving you lots of modifications and tips to safely explore each asana in an inviting and warm environment. This workshop is open to all students and teachers who have an interest in the Ashtanga practice.  

    Schedule
    Friday 5:30 pm-7:30 pm
    Why back bending? When and how to start and how to progress. Practice will be led through the first half of second series.

    Saturday 12 noon-3:00 pm
    Introduce how to practice and modify the leg behind the head series. Practice will be led up to pincha mayurasana (forearm balance).

    Sunday 12 noon-3:00 pm 
    Full 2nd series led gently and compassionately! Some time will be spent to break down and learn the more advanced poses in the series.

What does sitting and breathing do for one and why would one want to spend time doing that? Because its a very simple practice that needs no equipment and just a little time that improves your health, reduces stress, and makes you feel good! Breathing exercises carry many of the same benefits as exercise without the wear and tear on the body. Try it and discover the magic of breathing for yourself!

Workshop will be a blend of breathing practices and learning about the breathing process in the body and the philosophy behind the practices. The first month will have slightly more breathing education, the second month sessions will be less talking and more breathing. 

Workshop is tailored to beginners but all levels will learn and benefit. The workshop starts with easy breathing basics and builds upon each weeks experience and knowledge.

    Learn how to safely glean the strengthening benefits of third series without having to be a super yogi.  Yoga is not about having perfect asana, it’s about realizing how our thoughts effect our physiology and every aspect of our life. Third series and it’s challenges will teach us how to rise above the challenges in our lives and not be pulled down by what we are thinking.
    I will share how I navigated third series after hormonal changes and body changes — and found a sensible way that allows my body to still practice third series.
    We will review the poses, their benefits, and how to safely enter and exit them individualized for your body, while staying with your breath.
